Description

Soft, custardy bread pudding baked to golden perfection and topped with a burst of fresh pomegranate and powdered sugar.

Ingredients

  • Brioche or challah bread (cubed)
  • Eggs
  • Milk or cream
  • Sugar
  • Vanilla extract
  • Butter (melted)
  • Pomegranate seeds
  • Powdered sugar (for garnish)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and butter a baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
  3. Add bread cubes and toss gently to soak in the custard.
  4. Pour mixture into the baking dish, drizzle melted butter on top.
  5. Bake 35–40 minutes until golden and set but still soft in the center.
  6. Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar.
  7. Sprinkle with fresh pomegranate seeds before serving warm.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use cream instead of milk.
  • Ensure the bread is stale for better absorption of the custard.
  • Can be served warm or at room temperature.
