Description

Juicy, spiced meatballs draped in a silky garlic yogurt sauce—comforting, savory, and irresistibly spoonable.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Ground beef or lamb
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 Onion, grated
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp Ground cumin
  • 1 tsp Paprika or Aleppo pepper
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix ground meat, grated onion, breadcrumbs, egg, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  2. Roll into evenly sized meatballs.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet and brown meatballs on all sides until cooked through; remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, melt butter and sauté minced garlic briefly.
  5. Lower heat and gently stir in Greek yogurt until smooth and warm (do not boil).
  6. Return meatballs to the pan and spoon sauce over to coat.
  7. Finish with extra pepper or herbs and serve warm.

Notes

  • Do not boil the yogurt sauce to prevent curdling.
  • Adjust spices according to taste.
  • Serve with rice or bread for a complete meal.
