- 1 lb Ground beef or lamb
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 Onion, grated
- 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
- 1 Egg
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 1 tsp Ground cumin
- 1 tsp Paprika or Aleppo pepper
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Mix ground meat, grated onion, breadcrumbs, egg, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper until just combined.
- Roll into evenly sized meatballs.
- Heat oil in a skillet and brown meatballs on all sides until cooked through; remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, melt butter and sauté minced garlic briefly.
- Lower heat and gently stir in Greek yogurt until smooth and warm (do not boil).
- Return meatballs to the pan and spoon sauce over to coat.
- Finish with extra pepper or herbs and serve warm.
Notes
- Do not boil the yogurt sauce to prevent curdling.
- Adjust spices according to taste.
- Serve with rice or bread for a complete meal.
