Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1 cup mozzarella or provolone cheese, shredded

Instructions

  1. Activate yeast with warm milk and sugar until foamy.
  2. Mix flour, salt, eggs, yeast mixture, and butter to form a soft dough; knead until smooth.
  3. Let dough rise until doubled in size.
  4. Mix softened butter with garlic, chopped herbs, parmesan, salt, and pepper.
  5. Roll dough into a rectangle and spread garlic herb butter evenly.
  6. Roll up tightly, twist or coil, and place into a greased loaf pan.
  7. Bake until deeply golden and fragrant; cool slightly before slicing.
