Ingredients
- Ground beef (or beef & pork blend)
- Mozzarella cheese
- Marinara sauce
- Italian seasoning
- Eggs
- Breadcrumbs
- Milk
- Parmesan cheese
- Garlic (minced)
- Onion (finely diced)
- Fresh parsley or basil
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Olive oil
Instructions
- Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil until soft; let cool slightly.
- In a bowl, mix ground meat, eggs, breadcrumbs, milk, Parmesan, herbs, salt, and pepper.
- Press half the meat mixture into a loaf shape on a lined baking tray.
- Layer mozzarella down the center and spoon marinara over it.
- Cover with remaining meat mixture, sealing edges well.
- Spread marinara over the top and bake until cooked through and bubbling.
- Rest briefly, garnish with fresh herbs, and slice to serve.

- For extra flavor, use a blend of ground beef and pork.
- Let the meatloaf rest for a few minutes before slicing to maintain its shape.
