Description

A delicious Spiral Phyllo Meat Pie (Börek-Style Roll) featuring crispy phyllo pastry filled with a spiced ground beef mixture.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 sheets phyllo dough
  • 3 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 egg (for brushing)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Sauté onion in olive oil until soft, add ground beef, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned, then cool slightly.
  3. Brush a sheet of phyllo with butter, add a spoonful of beef along one edge, and roll tightly into a long log.
  4. Coil the roll into a spiral on the baking sheet, continuing with more filled phyllo strips until the spiral is complete.
  5. Brush top with beaten egg and extra butter for a golden finish.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes until crisp and golden brown.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm with yogurt or tomato dip.
