A delicious Spiral Phyllo Meat Pie (Börek-Style Roll) featuring crispy phyllo pastry filled with a spiced ground beef mixture.

- 1 lb ground beef
- 8 sheets phyllo dough
- 3 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp cumin
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 egg (for brushing)
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Sauté onion in olive oil until soft, add ground beef, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned, then cool slightly.
- Brush a sheet of phyllo with butter, add a spoonful of beef along one edge, and roll tightly into a long log.
- Coil the roll into a spiral on the baking sheet, continuing with more filled phyllo strips until the spiral is complete.
- Brush top with beaten egg and extra butter for a golden finish.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until crisp and golden brown.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm with yogurt or tomato dip.
Notes
- Ensure the phyllo dough is thawed and kept covered to prevent drying out.
- Feel free to add other spices or herbs to the beef filling for extra flavor.
