Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment.
- Cream butter and sugar until fluffy, then beat in egg, vanilla, and red food coloring.
- Mix in dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and coat generously with red sanding sugar.
- Bake 8–10 minutes until set but soft.
- Immediately press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie while warm.
- Cool completely so the chocolate kiss holds its shape.
