A cozy Greek comfort dish featuring fork-tender beef nestled in saucy, herb-kissed orzo.

- 2 lbs Beef chuck, large cubes
- 1 cup Orzo pasta
- 1 can (28 oz) Crushed tomatoes
- 2 cups Beef stock
- 1 Onion, finely chopped
- 4 Garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 2 tbsp Tomato paste
- 1 Cinnamon stick (or pinch ground)
- 1 Bay leaf
- 1 tsp Dried oregano
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Season beef generously; brown in olive oil until deeply caramelized. Remove.
- Sauté onion until soft; add garlic and tomato paste, cooking until fragrant.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, stock, cinnamon, bay, oregano; return beef.
- Cover and simmer gently until beef is very tender, about 90 minutes.
- Stir in orzo; transfer to a baking dish and cover.
- Bake until orzo is al dente and saucy, 25–30 minutes; rest 5 minutes.
- Finish with parsley and adjust seasoning before serving.
Notes
- For a deeper flavor, marinate the beef overnight.
- Adjust the amount of cinnamon to taste.
- Serve with a side of crusty bread for a complete meal.
