Ingredients
- Red velvet cupcake batter
- Buttercream frosting
- Red candy melts
- White sprinkles (nonpareils)
- Mini marshmallows (hat toppers)
- Vegetable oil (optional for smoothing melts)
- Cupcake liners (red preferred)
Instructions
- Bake red velvet cupcakes at 350°F (175°C) for 18–20 minutes and let cool fully.
- Pipe tall swirls of buttercream onto each cupcake.
- Melt red candy melts and dip small cone-shaped molds or chocolate cones to create Santa hats; coat in white nonpareils.
- Attach a mini marshmallow to the top using a dab of melted candy.
- Place each finished Santa hat or bauble gently onto the buttercream swirl.
- Add extra white sprinkles around the base for a snowy effect.
- Chill briefly to set the decorations before serving.
