Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp red food coloring
  • 1/2 cup butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon (for filling)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (for glaze)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup mixed berries or raspberry preserves (for drizzle)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup pecans or red velvet crumbs (optional topping)

Instructions

  1. Make dough by mixing warm milk, yeast, sugar, melted butter, eggs, flour, cocoa, and red coloring. Knead until soft; let rise 1 hour.
  2. Roll dough into a rectangle and spread softened butter over it.
  3. Sprinkle generously with brown sugar and cinnamon, then roll tightly into a log.
  4. Slice into 12 rolls and arrange in a greased baking pan; let rise 20–30 minutes.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 22–25 minutes until puffed and lightly golden.
  6. Spread warm rolls with cream cheese glaze.
  7. Drizzle with berry sauce and top with pecans or red velvet crumbs for the dramatic finish.
