Description

A tall, ultra-moist pumpkin spice cake studded with melty chocolate chips and wrapped in silky pumpkin frosting.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup Pumpkin purée
  • 1 cup Chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Baking powder

  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line/grease three 8-inch cake pans for tall layered slices.
  2. Cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in pumpkin purée until smooth.
  4. Whisk dry ingredients separately, then fold into the wet mixture; stir in chocolate chips.
  5. Divide evenly into pans and bake 30–35 minutes or until a tester comes out clean.
  6. Cool completely, then stack with pumpkin-spice frosting between each layer.
  7. Finish with smooth sides, chocolate-chip accents, and a decorative truffle on top.
