Description

Elegant, golden apple roses made with thinly sliced apples wrapped in buttery puff pastry and dusted with powdered sugar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 red apples, thinly sliced
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 3 tbsp apricot jam
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Powdered sugar for dusting
  • Flour for rolling

Instructions

  1. Slice apples thinly and microwave with lemon juice and a bit of water for 2 minutes to soften.
  2. Roll out puff pastry and cut into 6 long strips.
  3. Brush each strip with apricot jam and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  4. Lay overlapping apple slices along one edge of the pastry strip (skin side up).
  5. Fold the bottom edge of pastry over the apple slices, then roll tightly to form a rose shape.
  6. Place each rose in a greased muffin tin and bake at 375°F for 35–40 minutes until golden.
  7. Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure the apples are thinly sliced for even cooking.
  • Adjust the amount of sugar and cinnamon to taste.
