Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg + 1 yolk
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar; rest 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix in butter, eggs, and flour to form a soft dough. Knead until smooth; cover and rise 1 hour.
  3. Roll out dough, spread butter, sprinkle brown sugar, cinnamon, and half the walnuts.
  4. Roll tightly, slice into 12 pieces, and place in a greased baking dish. Let rise 30 minutes.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 25–30 minutes until golden and puffy.
  6. Mix maple syrup, powdered sugar, and milk for glaze; drizzle over warm buns.
  7. Top with remaining chopped walnuts for crunch.
