Description

Ingredients

  • 10 sheets phyllo dough
  • 1 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • A few sprigs of parsley or mint (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and butter a baking tray.
  2. Combine walnuts, sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl for the filling.
  3. Brush one sheet of phyllo with butter, add filling along the edge, and roll tightly into a thin log. Repeat with remaining sheets.
  4. Place rolls seam-side down on the tray, brush tops with butter, and bake for 25–30 minutes until golden and crisp.
  5. While baking, prepare syrup by simmering honey, water, and lemon juice for 5 minutes.
  6. Pour warm syrup over baked rolls immediately after removing from oven.
  7. Let absorb for 15 minutes before serving, garnished with a small parsley leaf for contrast.
