Scale
- 1 lb Ground beef
- 1 cup Cheddar cheese cubes
- 1 batch Pretzel dough (homemade or store-bought)
- 1/4 cup Baking soda (for boiling)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp Butter (melted, for brushing)
- Coarse sea salt (for topping)
- Mustard or dipping sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cook ground beef in a skillet, season with salt and pepper, and let cool slightly.
- Wrap small portions of pretzel dough around a bit of beef and a cube of cheese, sealing tightly.
- Boil each dough ball briefly in a baking soda bath (about 30 seconds) for that classic pretzel texture.
- Place on baking sheet, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with coarse salt.
- Bake 15–18 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
- Serve warm with mustard or dipping sauce — gooey cheese guaranteed!
Notes
- Ensure the pretzel dough is sealed tightly to prevent leakage during baking.
- Experiment with different cheese types for varied flavors.
- These can be made ahead and frozen before baking for a quick snack later.
