Description

Crunchy, golden triangles packed with creamy spiced potatoes and melty cheese.


Ingredients

  • Boiled potatoes (mashed slightly chunky)
  • Shredded mozzarella or cheddar
  • Samosa wrappers (or spring roll sheets)
  • Oil (for frying)
  • Onion (finely diced)
  • Green chili (minced, optional)
  • Ground cumin
  • Garam masala
  • Salt
  • Fresh cilantro (chopped)
  • Butter (for sautéing)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, melt butter and sauté onion until soft. Add cumin and garam masala; cook until fragrant.
  2. Stir in mashed potatoes, salt, green chili, and chopped cilantro. Let cool slightly, then fold in shredded cheese.
  3. Fold samosa wrappers into cones and fill with 1–2 tablespoons of the potato-cheese mixture. Seal edges with water.
  4. Heat oil to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Fry samosas in batches until deeply golden and crisp, about 3–4 minutes per side.
  6. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve hot with chutney or ketchup for dipping.

Notes

  • Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to achieve a crispy texture.
  • Feel free to adjust the spice level by adding more or less green chili.
  • These samosas can be frozen before frying for later use.
