Crunchy, golden triangles packed with creamy spiced potatoes and melty cheese.
Ingredients
- Boiled potatoes (mashed slightly chunky)
- Shredded mozzarella or cheddar
- Samosa wrappers (or spring roll sheets)
- Oil (for frying)
- Onion (finely diced)
- Green chili (minced, optional)
- Ground cumin
- Garam masala
- Salt
- Fresh cilantro (chopped)
- Butter (for sautéing)
Instructions
- In a skillet, melt butter and sauté onion until soft. Add cumin and garam masala; cook until fragrant.
- Stir in mashed potatoes, salt, green chili, and chopped cilantro. Let cool slightly, then fold in shredded cheese.
- Fold samosa wrappers into cones and fill with 1–2 tablespoons of the potato-cheese mixture. Seal edges with water.
- Heat oil to 375°F (190°C).
- Fry samosas in batches until deeply golden and crisp, about 3–4 minutes per side.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with chutney or ketchup for dipping.
Notes
- Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to achieve a crispy texture.
- Feel free to adjust the spice level by adding more or less green chili.
- These samosas can be frozen before frying for later use.
