Description

A cinnamon-swirled loaf packed with tender apples and finished with a sweet vanilla glaze.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups diced fresh apples
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 23 tbsp milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a loaf pan.
  2. Toss diced apples with brown sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon; set aside.
  3. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining cinnamon. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk into the batter.
  5. Layer half the batter into the pan, add half the apples, repeat layers, and lightly swirl with a knife.
  6. Bake 55–65 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool 15 minutes, then remove from pan.
  7. Whisk powdered sugar and milk into a glaze and drizzle generously over the warm loaf.
