- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1½ cups granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp red food coloring
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp salt
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp butter (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line an 8×8 pan with parchment paper.
- Whisk melted butter and sugar until glossy. Add eggs, vanilla, and red food coloring.
- Sift in cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Fold gently until just combined.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake 30–35 minutes until center is set but still fudgy. Cool completely.
- Beat cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Spread thick frosting over cooled brownies and slice into squares.
Notes
- Ensure the brownies are completely cooled before adding the frosting for the best texture.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
