Description

A cheesy, crunchy, flavor-packed Tex-Mex casserole layered with taco beef, melty cheese, and piles of Fritos.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 1 packet Taco seasoning
  • 2 cups Shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
  • 4 cups Fritos corn chips
  • 1 cup Salsa
  • 1 cup Sour cream (plus extra for topping)
  • 1 cup Diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup Green onions
  • Optional: 4 oz cream cheese for extra creaminess
  • Optional toppings: guacamole, jalapeños

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef, drain, and stir in taco seasoning with a splash of water.
  2. Combine salsa with sour cream (and optional cream cheese) for a creamy taco layer.
  3. In a dish, add crushed Fritos, then taco beef, followed by the creamy salsa mix, and top with cheese.
  4. Add another layer of Fritos and cheese on top.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15–20 minutes until bubbly and melted.
  6. Add sour cream, salsa, guacamole, or jalapeño slices on top.
  7. Serve warm for maximum crunch.
