Description

Juicy browned meatballs simmered in a rich caramelized-onion gravy with melty, savory flavor in every bite.

Ingredients

  • Ground beef
  • Caramelized onions
  • Beef broth
  • Gruyère or Swiss cheese (optional for topping)
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Egg
  • Garlic
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Butter
  • Thyme
  • Salt & pepper

Instructions

  1. Slowly caramelize sliced onions in butter with garlic and thyme until deeply golden.
  2. Mix ground beef with breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper; roll into meatballs.
  3. Brown meatballs in a skillet or bake at 375°F until cooked through.
  4. Add caramelized onions and beef broth to the skillet to form a glossy onion gravy.
  5. Simmer meatballs in the gravy until well-coated and the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Optional: top with shredded Gruyère and broil briefly to melt.
  7. Garnish with parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Adjust seasoning to taste.
