A bun-less, ultra-cheesy burger stacked between thick, sweet caramelized onion rounds.
Ingredients
- Large onions (cut into thick rounds)
- Ground beef (80/20)
- Cheddar or American cheese
- Burger sauce (mayo + mustard + relish)
- Butter or oil
- Salt & pepper
- Garlic powder
- Parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Slice onions into thick rings (¾–1 inch). Sear in butter over medium heat until softened, then continue cooking until deep golden and caramelized on both sides.
- Form beef into thick patties and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Sear patties over medium-high heat until browned; add cheese and let melt generously.
- Mix burger sauce by combining mayo, mustard, relish, and a pinch of pepper.
- Stack the cheesy patty on one caramelized onion round.
- Spoon on a thick layer of burger sauce.
- Top with another caramelized onion round to create the “bun.” Serve immediately.

- For extra flavor, consider adding herbs or spices to the burger patties.
