Ingredients
- Chicken thighs or breasts
- Buttermilk
- All-purpose flour
- Cayenne pepper
- Paprika
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Salt & black pepper
- Hot sauce (for marinade)
- Eggs
- Vegetable or peanut oil (for frying)
- Fresh parsley (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Marinate chicken in buttermilk, hot sauce, salt, and pepper for at least 1 hour (or overnight).
- Whisk flour with paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Remove chicken from marinade and dredge thoroughly in seasoned flour.
- Dip back into buttermilk, then flour again for extra crunch.
- Heat oil to 350°F / 175°C in a deep skillet.
- Fry chicken in batches until deep golden and cooked through.
- Drain on a rack, rest briefly, and serve hot.
