Description

A rich and flavorful creamy butter chicken bake that combines tender chicken with a spiced tomato cream sauce, perfect for a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breast, cubed
  • 1 cup tomato purée
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp garam masala
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a bowl, marinate chicken with yogurt, 1 tbsp garam masala, and a pinch of salt for 15 minutes.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion until soft, then add garlic and ginger; cook until fragrant.
  3. Stir in tomato purée, remaining garam masala, paprika, cumin, and chili powder. Simmer 8–10 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Add heavy cream and simmer until the sauce turns smooth and velvety. Adjust salt.
  5. Transfer marinated chicken into a baking dish and pour sauce evenly over the top.
  6. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until chicken is cooked through and tender.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice.
