Description

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm whole milk
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and a pinch of sugar. Let bloom for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix in eggs, melted butter, vanilla, sugar, and salt. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise 1–1½ hours until doubled.
  4. Roll dough to about ¼-inch thickness and cut into squares.
  5. Heat oil to 350°F and fry beignets 1–2 minutes per side until deep golden brown.
  6. Drain on paper towels while warm.
  7. Generously dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
