Description

Tender cabbage leaves wrapped around seasoned beef and rice, simmered in a rich tomato sauce until perfectly tender.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 Cabbage leaves
  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 1 cup Rice (cooked)
  • 2 cups Tomato sauce
  • 1 Onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 Garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 Egg (to bind)
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Boil a large pot of water and blanch cabbage leaves until soft and pliable.
  3. In a bowl, mix ground beef, cooked rice, onion, garlic, egg, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Place a spoonful of filling in each cabbage leaf and roll tightly, tucking in the sides.
  5. Spread a layer of tomato sauce in a baking dish.
  6. Arrange rolls seam-side down and cover with remaining tomato sauce.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 45–50 minutes until cooked through.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure the cabbage leaves are blanched well for easy rolling.
  • Feel free to add other spices to the filling for extra flavor.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
