Ingredients

- 1 lb Ground beef
- 2 cups Cheddar cheese
- 2 cups Mozzarella cheese
- 1 packet Taco seasoning
- 1 cup Diced onions
- 1 cup Tomato sauce
- 2 cups Cooked rice or tortilla layers
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- Fresh cilantro (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a baking dish with olive oil.
- In a skillet, sauté onions until soft, then add ground beef and cook until browned.
- Stir in taco seasoning and tomato sauce; simmer for 5 minutes.
- Layer the beef mixture in the baking dish, followed by rice (or tortillas) and a generous layer of both cheeses.
- Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with cheese on top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
- Garnish with cilantro before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add jalapeños to the beef mixture.
- Can substitute ground turkey for a leaner option.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
