Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 2 cups Cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 packet Taco seasoning
  • 1 cup Diced onions
  • 1 cup Tomato sauce
  • 2 cups Cooked rice or tortilla layers
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • Fresh cilantro (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a baking dish with olive oil.
  2. In a skillet, sauté onions until soft, then add ground beef and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in taco seasoning and tomato sauce; simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Layer the beef mixture in the baking dish, followed by rice (or tortillas) and a generous layer of both cheeses.
  5. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with cheese on top.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Garnish with cilantro before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add jalapeños to the beef mixture.
  • Can substitute ground turkey for a leaner option.
