A cozy and hearty casserole combining two comfort food classics: cheesy macaroni and meatloaf.
Ingredients

- 1 lb Ground beef
- 2 cups Macaroni pasta
- 2 cups Cheddar cheese
- 1 cup Milk
- 1 Onion, finely chopped
- 1 Egg
- 1 cup Breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 2 tbsp Flour
- 1 tsp Mustard powder
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Black pepper
Instructions
- Cook macaroni until just al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, onion, egg, breadcrumbs, mustard, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Press the meat mixture evenly into a greased baking dish to form the meatloaf layer.
- Melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in flour, then slowly add milk to form a smooth sauce.
- Stir in cheddar cheese until melted, then fold in cooked macaroni.
- Spread the mac and cheese evenly over the meatloaf layer.
- Bake uncovered for 45–50 minutes until bubbly, golden, and set. Rest 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add some cayenne pepper to the meat mixture.
- Feel free to substitute ground turkey for a leaner option.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
