Description

Soft, golden pretzel buns stuffed with juicy beef and melty cheese — a bite-sized explosion of cheeseburger goodness!

Ingredients

  • Ground beef (1 lb)
  • Cheddar cheese cubes (12 small pieces)
  • Refrigerated pizza dough (1 roll)
  • Baking soda (¼ cup, for boiling water bath)
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • Garlic powder (½ tsp)
  • Egg (1, beaten for egg wash)
  • Coarse salt (for topping)
  • Butter (2 tbsp, melted)

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in a skillet with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Drain and cool slightly.
  2. Cut pizza dough into 12 equal pieces. Flatten each piece into a small round.
  3. Place a spoonful of beef and one cheese cube in the center of each round. Pinch dough tightly to seal and roll into a ball.
  4. Drop each ball into boiling water mixed with baking soda for 30 seconds, then remove with a slotted spoon.
  5. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, brush with egg wash, and sprinkle with coarse salt. Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Brush with melted butter right out of the oven for shine and flavor.
  7. Best enjoyed fresh with dipping sauces like ketchup, mustard, or cheese sauce.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding diced onions or pickles to the beef mixture.
  • These can be made ahead of time and frozen before boiling.
  • Experiment with different types of cheese for varied flavors.
