Ingredients

  • Ground beef
  • Caramelized onions
  • Puff pastry sheets
  • Beef broth

  • Worcestershire sauce

  • Egg wash

Instructions

  1. Slowly caramelize sliced onions in butter until deep golden; add garlic and thyme.
  2. Brown ground beef separately, season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire, then combine with onions.
  3. Sprinkle in a spoonful of flour and stir; add beef broth and simmer until thick and glossy.
  4. Line a baking dish with puff pastry, fill with the beef–onion mixture.
  5. Top with another sheet of pastry, seal edges, and score a lattice or crosshatch pattern.
  6. Brush with egg wash and bake at 400°F for 25–30 minutes until puffed and deeply golden.
  7. Let rest 10 minutes before slicing for clean layers.
