- 1/2 cup basil pesto
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or Italian cheese blend
- 1 egg (for egg wash)

- Salt & pepper
- Small star-shaped pastry cutouts for decoration
Instructions
- Roll out two sheets of puff pastry and cut both into matching Christmas tree shapes.
- Spread basil pesto on one pastry tree and sprinkle generously with mozzarella and small bits of tomato.
- Place the second pastry tree on top and gently press the edges to seal.
- Slice horizontal “branches” on both sides, then twist each strip to expose layers of pesto and cheese.
- Brush the entire tree with egg wash for a golden bake.
- Add rosemary sprigs tucked into the twists for decoration.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 18–22 minutes until puffed, flaky, and deep golden; top with baked pastry stars.

- Feel free to customize the cheese blend to your preference.
- For a vegetarian option, omit the Parmesan if not suitable.
